Natasha Avery, DrPH, LMSW, CHES

Dr. Natasha Avery is the executive director of Network 8, Inc. a subsidiary of Alliant Health Solutions and the Mississippi Medicaid Utilization Management/ Quality Improvement Organization (UM/QIO) contract.  Under the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services contract, Network 8 serves end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. The Medicaid UM/ QIO contract provides utilization review and quality improvement services to Medicaid beneficiaries. Dr. Avery is responsible for the daily operational oversight and management for both contracts.

Dr. Avery offers 18 years of healthcare experience and has extensive knowledge in ESRD, quality improvement, social work, and public health initiatives. Prior to being promoted to the executive director role, Dr. Avery served as the patient services director for Network 8 from 2008-2016. In this role she was responsible for managing grievance investigations, patient and family engagement activities, and providing technical assistance to the ESRD provider community.

She currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Mississippi Kidney Foundation and Board of Directors for the National Forum of ESRD Networks. In 2018, she was recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as a 50 Leading Business Women honoree. She is an active member of the Junior League of Jackson participating in numerous volunteer projects to promote children’s health, early literacy, and social development.

Dr. Avery is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) and a certified health education specialist (CHES). She obtained her MSW before earning her doctorate in public health (DrPH) from Jackson State University. She also holds a bachelor’s in social work from Mississippi State University.
